Mother’s Day 2019

For all of the Mothers out there, I salute you. This post is not for you. 

I am here today for those of us who have lost their Mothers. Those of us who feel like orphans on one of the biggest celebratory days on the planet. A day where we take a moment to recognize our first role model. A day when the world celebrates but we feel empty. 

I know that our community is built on grief and understanding that this day leaves a void. While those around us tell us that time is our friend, we see the path differently. How do we tell those close to us that we dread this day? We would rather sleep away the day or pretend that it’s irrelevant. Instead we hurt in silence. 

I am here to tell you that I see you. You are not alone. I am there with you.
